`room 1001` my feet & legs are aching right now. yours would too from standing for 4 and a half hours outside the fuckin federal building. got to the INS office at around 9am this morning. we went up to the room number specified on our letter - whew, didn't have to go to the dreaded 1001 room. when we got there, i knew immediately something was wrong since the door said "advanced parole". oh great. well - that room no longer handled what we came for and the lady gave us a referral to the correct suite #. 1001. FUCK! if you've never been to the INS building in LA, then you wouldn't know what everyone hates suite 1001 so much. it's because you need to wait in line forever to get into the office itself and once you're in - it's another dreaded wait. this time was worse. we got into 1001 around 10:00am and when K went to the area with all the respective windows, the guard said: "one person only in this waiting area" WTF?? And with that, he kicked me out of 1001 and onto the streets of LA. well of all the days in LA, it rained. there were no seating areas outside the federal building, no clean areas to be exact. i could sit on the floor but who knows what phlegm previously inhabited that same spot i might sit on?? no chance there baby. so it was getting blustery and cold and rain started falling. i got hit up on so many times by homeless people, i began to feel like one myself. since the windows to 1001 were all tinted, everyone had to cup their hands to peer inside to see where their loved one was. you can imagine how dirty that window is with all the fingerprints and handprints on there. and this chinese guy next to me sneezed right onto the window. SHIT! so i hung out outside the federal building for 4 and a half hours waiting for K. he felt so bad waiting for me on that nice comfy chair inside the building, while i stood. when he finally came out at 1:30pm, he took me to eat sushi :) i hate the way this government runs things. `rules of engagement` i did take a whole day off today for this INS thing, and I wasn't gonna let 4 and half hours of standing ruin this semi-day-off. i went to the theatres because i knew alot of new movies were out. but then we ended up seeing rules of engagement. it was a bit disappointing in my opinion. not samuel l. jackson's best work but it was just entertainment. oddly enough 2 marines sat next to me to watch the movie. i think we should have watched final destination or erin brockovich or something. i got a few free movies tix that i need to use soon before they expire. but saw got some good trailers on upcoming films such as mission impossible 2 (the music sounds tres kewl), gone in sixty seconds (angelina jolie's chick steals car flick) and that nazi submarine movie with matthew mccounaghey & jon bon jovi in it - which i can't remember the name of. `What's On The 8-Track` been listening to a few cd's these days and one of them is by the world famous violinist Vanessa Mae. If you don't know who she is, she's a Singaporean born, London raised, half Thai half Chinese musical prodigy. She extremely famous overseas and in England but here in the US, she's not as publicized I don't think. She fuses together classical violin with techno & other modern styles. She's even begun to sing in her cds and who can blame her, at 22 and a knockout, she's taking the world by storm...which is also the name of the cd I have been listening to. I think you'll enjoy this cd as much as I do. She's awesome. Finally - the cd's I've been waiting for - the Best of Led Zepplin Volume 1 & 2. (Ok if you're not into Led Zep - skip this). Now I don't have to buy ALL their cd's and choose and pick from their cd's to listen to my favorite songs - they are all on 2 cd's now. Yay! And dayam, Robert Plant & Jimmy Page looked so young back then. *grin* If you've never listened to Led Zep, they are a British icon rock group of the 70's with their ultra famous hits such as Stairway to Heaven, All of My Love and Kashmir (which reminds of Fast Times At Ridgemont High , everytime I hear it). Anyway, if you're a fan and you didn't know these cds existed, now you do - go get it. `vcr overload` decided to rent a couple videos tonight since Rules of Engagement disappointed me so. got The Bone Collector & Double Jeopardy. Bone Collector scared the crap out of me. I can't stand seeing things cut down to the bone. Eecks. I'm not a surgeon afterall. But it was enjoyable although the ending could have been a bit better. Haven't gotten to Double Jeopardy yet - will watch that later. Can't you tell I'm getting my fill of the movies these days? There's so much I missed out on and am trying to catch up. Slowly but surely. `bounceback` thanks to grace & my pr chick friend who supplied me with some cool kids sites :) (at least SOME people out there are reading my journals) - if any of you know more kid's sites for me to present to a group of kids I'd appreciate it. and you know how i love 'em kids.... `hmmm` i was just going over my old entries from the past two months and i notice my entries are getting longer and longer and longer. i used to write short, clipped to the point stuff but now .... the pressure to keep people entertained. :P shiiiiet, don't worry i'll cut them short again so it'll be just like the old days! muahahahahahaha..... on that note...i'll end it here. have a bitchin saturday. i'm out. |
