It's Sunday. You can say it's the end of one's week or you can say it's the beginning of one's week. Whatever you want to call it - I'm just glad it's either ending or beginning. This past week has been more than I can bear and I'm just glad I'm moving on in life. It's funny how, when it rains, it pours. Thanks to everyone for their kind words of encouragement during the past couple of days. You know who you are (yes, even to the one who was hesitant to link me) and just wanted to say thank you. After having a couple of days to sit on it and to weigh things out - I think it's for the better that things turned out this way. Of course it could have been handled completely differently but hey, life's a bitch. And I know it. Let's hope this week will be a little bit less exciting. ... I had to *endure* a dinner last night with a couple friends and a chick who reminded me very much of the *dingy dung beetle*. For those of you who are unfamiliar with the *dingy dung beetle* character in my prior entries, she is a very dingy chick who I had to work with and who would say things that were highly inappropriate and hence, would piss me off...often. After last night, I think the dingy dung beetle has been reincarnated but this time - in a more materialistic form. Ugh. At least the dingy dung beetle was not materialistic and extremely homely. So we sit down for dinner at Chili's and she starts bantering about how all married men have mistresses and how all Asian men who deal in business have to entertain at hostess clubs and such. Her significant other, being overseas, is feeding all this info into her wee little mind. And I mean...WEE. Then she had the gall to say this: "it's the fault of married women who let themselves go [physically] after marriage, so of course their husbands are going to look for someone more attractive than they are." Did I mention I've had a bad week? And now to actually be in the company of people with thinking such as hers? What sins have I committed to endure this torture? I'd rather be drinking a bottle of Drano. So let me get this straight, if a women gets married and she doesn't "take care of herself" by making herself pretty, keeping that 36-24-26 figure that we ALL have, and by getting all dolled up for her husband, he will go find the next piece of meat available and make her his mistress? Then she went on and said: "women who aren't working and who aren't knowledgeable about the business world - don't have much in common with their husbands anymore. men like to come home and talk to their wives about business and to hope they can relate. but if they can't - it's natural for them to start affairs with their secretary." Oh God, I had to control myself from raising that steak knife and plunging it into her neck. So first of all, if I am to understand correctly, it is the women's job to keep herself looking good for her man so he doesn't "wander"? Secondly, if one doesn't keep themselves updated with the business world, then their husband will surely lose interest and have an affair with his secretary? Ok here's my thing: sure, alot of men do entertain at hostess clubs for business because they like to take their clients out for some fun and relaxation. And what could be more relaxing than a hard-on right? In the Asian business world, it is very prevalent and looked highly upon as a great indulgence to take a client there for entertainment. I used to work in a company where the monthly credit cards reflected hostess club charges for prices as high as $1,600 per transaction. For that price, they better be getting not ONE but TWO VIRGINS! Anyway, I think this chick is whacked. Obviously, if a man only wants a woman for her looks, then I would dare say that this marriage is not based on a foundation of the proper principles. And damn, why does the woman have to do all the work in keeping up with their looks? As if the man still looks 25 or something? Give me a fuckin break! And on the note about women not being knowledgeable about the business world, let me tell you that many a times, it's the husband who doesn't want their wives to work! And on the flip side of the same coin - alot of times it's the woman who's the mastermind of the whole business thing and she's probably the one with the money backing up his business ventures! I seriously was going to rail on this chick but thought that giving face to my friends is more important and thereby held my tongue. I grew incessantly quiet. I don't recall much of the rest she blabbered about because my eyes kind of glazed over and just stared off at the other people's fajitas. I think I've made it clear that I don't want to go out with her again. And if for some reason we are together, I'll rail on her ass like a caboose from hell. Have a good week folks. It's raining cats and dogs here, so drive carefully, unless of course, you're the materialistic dingy wee brain. I'm out. |
