Happy 2nd Anniversary Aiyah.net

long
life to aiyah.net [don't you dig this image?]
Two
years. Yes it's true.
I'm
surprised at myself for hanging in there that long because who knew
I would still be writing 2 years later. As much as I love to write,
there are times when I feel like I can't put my all into it because
of personal censorship. And I think at those times I have trouble
grappling with how unmotivated I am to write on this site and how
I really want to just throw in the towel. But it's still alive and
I'm happy for that. [Besides, I paid for another two years for this
domain already :P]
So
what has changed in these two years? Well readership has doubled
since last year at this time and I should say thanks to everyone
for coming back to read me when there are plenty of other sites
out there to occupy your time with. A big thanks also for all the
emails of encouragement and support from fellow OJs and honorable
readers - it really means a lot.
What
else has changed? Well, me obviously. I'm constantly in a state
of flux and it shows in my writings - so thanks for bearing with
my cyclical moods and my constant variation in writings styles.
I also have in this past year cut down on my writing quantity (to
the dismay of some of you out there) but it's really for the better.
Trust me on this. If I could write more, I would, but this site
gobbles up my time more than you really know and there are other
areas of my life I have to devote some time to as well - like, finding
a job, getting a life, earning some income.
Also,
my real-life friends have been a bit more open to me posting their
photos online. I guess there was no escaping this crazy Aiyah chick
and her digicam. For the most part, all my friends expect me to
bring my camera with me to all occasions now and have been kind
enough to put up with my camera antics.
Enough
serious chat. Here's to another year of good writing and reading.
:)
:::
In
following with the tradition of last year's anniversary, I'm going
to do another one of my fabuloso book giveaways [one that I haven't
done in ages because I've been to poor to give out my books for
free]:

A
Feather on the Breath of God by Sigrid Nunez
This
is an old book published in 1995 but one about mixed heritage -
Chinese-Panamanian and German. It is a beautifully written book
that didn't get as much exposure as it should have gotten amidst
the other Joy Luck Clubbish types of books back in the day. The
book goes to whoever can give me the correct answer to the following
question. Of course you do realize that you have to give me your
address if you win. Read
here for more info on the book.

Only

your answers.
Email me if
you want to try your luck.
And
if I've slept with you before, then you don't get to play because
you'd know what size I am. :P Kidding.
Cheers
to another year ahead.
P.S.
i owe alot of you emails out there, so hold on, esp. those who replied
regarding the "through the stomach" entry. i enjoyed everyone's
input.
I'm
out.
