so that's
what fishpimp looks like when she sucks....on a straw
Whenever
you see Fishpimp, you ought to know that it's Monday. Today's dining
adventures brings us to Banana Bay in Rowland Heights for some Thai
cuisine. It's been awhile since I've shown foods but blame that
on the dead battery in my old digicam. Today's photos are all shot
with the new digicam, unretouched - only resized. :P The colors
are so brilliant aren't they? Do
you notice an improvement from my old photos? They even make
Fishpimp look better than she really is. :P Haha. Kidding.
I come
here to Banana Bay once in awhile because their atmosphere is nice,
roomy, airy and the food is agreeable with my stomach. Fishpimp
opts for the Coconut drink while I have the traditional Thai Iced
Tea (not shown) and we share the Pineapple Fried Rice, Pad Thai
and the Angel Wings (see below).

In
LA, we're really lucky to have so many varieties of ethnic cuisine
at such reasonable prices. Sure, we have to drive a lot to get around
but well, there's always a give and take somewhere.
:::
At
5pm on Monday afternoons, my cell phone usually starts ringing -
calls from my friends asking if we're going to be at our usual roller
blading place. With our recent fanaticism about rollerblading, we've
gotten many of our friends to either purchase them or dig them out
from the back of their closet and oil them bearings. We're usually
always there on Mondays and our friends always know where to find
us. I'm always afraid though of the cops showing up since there's
no blading allowed in our park :P but how much of a terror can we
be? We're like the fuckin geriatric rollerblading gang. We need
our Centrum Silver to get our joints working. We're not robbing
folks as we roll by or knocking people down - we just want a place
to skate that's safe. Sometimes I don't understand these cities,
if we don't skate in parks, where do they expect us to skate at?
I mean, I can see how they wouldn't want gangs of kids skating and
causing a nuisance and be out at all hours but let's be realistic
-- do they really expect us to skate on the big streets of this
urban jungle? Yeah, whatever.
After
the group of geriatric rollerbladers have convened and skated up
an appetite, we usually head for some Chinese food that is muy inexpensivo.
Another good point about living in LA is the abundance of cheap
Chinese food to be had. Who cares if they aren't in Zagat's Survey
or have a C rating. We all know that Chinese restaurants are never
that clean anyway. As long as I don't know what's in the kitchen
and as long as I don't get the runs, it's fine with me. I think.
Perhaps
next time I'll snap some photos of us blading but knowing me, I'll
slip, fall on my ass and break the new camera.
You
know, I used to really hate Mondays but they don't seem so bad now.
But that's only because I don't have to haul my ass to the office
at 7am to see a boss who's throat I want to cut. Just wait till
I go back to work, I'll hate mondays again.
I'm
out.
