the road home

[hanging with some cute gals: pr chick, rt chick, cc, er chick. if pr chick
would only squeeze in a lil with rt chick, she wouldn't be so darn flash-burned.
:p]
last night, i was invited to a private screening of a not-yet-released movie called, the road home at the 20th century fox studios in century city. i'm not familiar with the entertainment industry but from what i gathered, the screening was put together for the fox studio's folks' final review before determining launch and last night was the second night of viewing for those who worked on the film and their family and friends.

[er chick and her husband doug, the director of photography for the film.
please correct me if i'm wrong.]
this was most definitely a first for me and although i've been on the fox studios lot before, i've never been there for a screening. stupidly, i didn't get a chance to snap photos of the big simpsons mural and other hollywood-esque stuff while there was still light out. the road home is in a broad nutshell: a love story about a guy (played by the producer drew johnson) who's in love with his best friend (who we all thought looked like keri russell) since they were kids. but with many strange twists of fate along the way, they never seem to be able to get together. he aspires to be a professional baseball player and she, a poet. throughout the years, he continues to pine for her and his love never wavers while she gets involved with all the wrong men and pursues a career as a playboy playmate. there's more to it than this, such as life growing up in vegas, teammate bonding on the long beach state baseball team, and lifelong friendships. but that's a quick and painless recap.

[the post movie hollywood schmooze. the guy in the red cap is one of the actors
in the movie. :p~~~~]

[the dharma & greg art department bike =:o]

[late night supper at canter's deli. it feels really nyc in there. yay! but
our waitress didn't really like us sitting in her station at 12am when she
was ready to go home. one of the things i really miss out on about not living
in the westside are these cool eating establishments where they have so much
flavor and soul to them instead of all the BORING franchise chains in my area.
:p and how many more boba stands do we really need anyway?!?]

[these chicken matzo balls are bigger than some my friend's breasts! rt chick
and pr chick are dangerous together but they do the funniest things that i
would do as well. if i didn't have to take photos, i would join in with their
crazy antics.]

[kosher pickles all around. damn, look at all them greedy hands flying in
there.]

[bio hazard chick, my long time good friend. i lurve this photo of her.]

[i *had* to post this photo of "the gaffer" duane and rob. because
duane normally doesn't pose like that i'm sure and it's such a swinging single
guy's pose. i had a lot of fun chatting with these two. hope i'll get a chance
to see them again.]

[manual shots without flash are always the best!]

[our lil own after party event. there's "the gaffer" doing his thumb
thing again. *wink* p.s. the guy on the far left isn't part of the group,
he just tried to sneak himself in there. :o]
all in all, a really fun night. a big thanks to bio hazard chick for inviting me and making my mundane life, not so mundane, at least for a few hours.
p.s. babemonster, you're one of my friend's fave reads!
