isn't she the cutest thing?

what a better way to end a long ass week than to hang out with the cute pseudo-san-x character luckykat? we met up today at one of our fave japanese restaurants (one of the many similarities we have actually) and dined over hamachi sashimi, miso ika and tempura. yummy! it's always so much fun to chat with linda because we share a lot of the same interests and can relate to one another on many levels. yeah, we're deep like dat. :p

also, we just like to laugh and yap away about our lives. it was good to get her input on my new design and pick her brain on the computer software available as well. and talk about all the different things we still need to learn for our websites *sigh* it's a never ending and very daunting task indeed. we covered many of the usual topics and it's always great to talk to another very hip and married chick, like myself. *cough cough* afterall, she *is* an artist and i respect her opinions highly.

for all the guys out there, she's already married and spoken for.

after lunch we headed over to tea station and gulped down on some drinks, where linda opted for the big bowl of hot boba milk tea and i got brain freeze from the lychee snow ice. this is a different tea station/tenren tea than i usually go to with my regular catty milk tea girls, so it was refreshing to know that not *all* of them are so mean. yes, there is hope for mankind. ;P i remember a time when LA didn't have any of these drink places. i mean, they just didn't exist! and now, they are everywhere, side by side, back to back. i mean, how much BOBA does this world need? i guess there will always be empty stomachs to fill up with all those chewy brown marbles. one thing i did like about this tea station was that it's much bigger and some of the patrons were actually good eye candy. luckykat didn't see anything because she wasn't facing the "to go" booth near the door. too bad! some of them were yummy. :x

afterwards, we went over to the kee wah bakery to pick up some cakes, portuguese egg tarts (heaven!) and breads. then linda mentioned to me that i would really love this store around the corner called Takashima. so we went there and that evil luckykat really lured me in good because i couldn't stop filling things up in my dainty pink basket. they had all these san-x character goods there!! ahhhhhhhh! the insanity begins. what is it about being a girl and loving these lil adorable characters from san-x? i think it's in every girl's genes. we see it and all the oohs and aahs begin pouring out. we just seem to want want want because they are all so damn cute. anyway, Takashima is this narrow 2-story store filled with cutesy things from Japan. the really weird thing was that i walked in and they had blaring through their speakers, Chihiro Onitsuka's Armor cd playing-- which coincidentally my friends, was the cd playing throughout my entire time designing this new layout (winks @ dE!).

i ended up getting a ton of stuff there from mikan and sudachichan, amagurichan, momopanda, and a few other nameless ones that are equally cute. the damage to my wallet was ugly though. so if you're in the area, go knock yourself out at:

burn your money at takashima, your gf/wife will love you for it!

i actually wanted to take a photo in there but i don't think they understood my question so i didn't press it. i guess i could have used mandarin but didn't to embarrass myself in front of the luckykat. :p anyway, i had a great afternoon overall since i've been cooped away in my house for the past couple weeks recovering and especially since i began the new layout, i haven't even left the computer room for anything. it was nice to have a reason such as having lunch with linda to make me actually shower, put on makeup and do my hair. :) thanks for the company and the lunch, luckykat! can't wait till next time! *hint*

I'm out.
