my photoshop seems screwy today. :(

[i like exposed ceilings in restaurants with warm colored walls]

caught the first showing of star wars: attack of the clones this morning and without blowing the storyline or the ending, i just have to say this is probably one of my favorites in the star wars saga. i'm not a huge huge star wars fan, like how some folks are trekkies and such but i like watching star wars because it reminds me how much of a kid i am. there's nothing quite like being in awe of those creatures from a galaxy far far away and wondering how people come up with a design for characters like that. perhaps it's the whole futuristic view of life through the eyes of the visionaries in star wars that makes me giddy. or perhaps it's the music. how can anyone forget the musical scores in star wars? once i hear it, the hair on my skin stands up in rapt attention.

i think a lot of you are like me. no matter how old or young we are/get, we are taken aback to a time when we were in our youth when the very first star wars came out. sure, not all the sequels or prequels live up to our expectations but hell, i go in without any expectations and just watch the damn thing. i just like seeing all the characters i remembered as a child.

my thoughts on the movie? the love story between anakin and padmé seems kind of awkward and perhaps it's because hayden christensen isn't the most convincing actor. there's something about him. maybe it's that lil tail he had on his head. natalie portman i thought looked really nice in her costumes, especially when they showed off her back, chest and arms. but did they really need to make her shirt cut off in the ending battle to make it look like a hooters shirt?

everyone's favorite was yoda and here's K's one line review of the movie:

"bow down to yoda"

yeah, nuff said. there was enough wirefu to make jet li jealous i think. i guess it was odd to see all these jedi masters fight when we normally see them sitting down meditating in their infinite wisdom. and samuel l. jackson was....samuel l. jackson. i wished he looked for star wars-ish though with some headpiece or whatever, instead of lounging in some jedi yukata.

enlightenment always seems to dawn on me whenever i watch these prequels to star wars IV, V, VI and i can finally pull the whole story together bit by bit. take for instance, we finally learn the beginnings of Boba Fett. on a sidenote, little did george lucas know that Boba minus the Fett would be a huge drink craze in 2002. but i digress. regardless of the reviews, go judge for yourself because no two viewers are the same.

I'm out.
