in my drawers
february 10, 2005

the drawers of a person's desk tells you alot about a person. it shows their habits, their lifestyle, their way of approaching the day - you could say. most of the people i know have really messy drawers and throw whatever they want in there. me, on the other hand, falls into the overly obsessive compulsive category. not only do i like things neat but they have to be in the exact same place. every single day. yes, i know i have issues - it's on my valentine's day card afterall. so for today, it's a little bit of show & tell or you could say that i don't have anything in particular i wish to share aside from the very general and mundane.
drawer 1: this is the top drawer to my life at my desk. it's mainly personal stuff that i need to keep within reach at all times. starting from the upper left hand corner, here's a tour.
green hello kitty pencil box - colleague gave it to me and i still don't know what to do with it...perhaps put pencils in it? just a thought. :p
back up box of tissue - never know when tissue may run out at work.
red mesh make up bag - this holds all my girly essentials at work. inside is a hairbrush, toothbrush & toothpaste, dental floss, 5 different lipsticks & glosses.
compartment - spearmint dentyne ice gum for fresh breath, compact mirror from my japan trip in 2003, clean & clear blotting paper, japanese powdered blotting paper, kiehls lip gloss to keep lips soft and moist, random freebie work keychain. box of business cards that i don't put out on my desk because there's no one to give my cards to. box of clips. box of baby wipes since you never know what you may be eating at your desk. 1 wayward blank cdr.
pencil caddy - pushpins, sortkwik, listerine strips (you see a pattern of fresh breath here?), small strip of staples, 2 batteries, nailclipper, lip gloss from japan (another pattern here with the soft lips thing?), pencil lead, black hair rubberband and narrow post it notes.
larger compartment - old name plate, 2005 maltese puppies calendar (not too useful sitting inside my drawer huh?) and the far white box to the back is full of medicine. i am known in my area as the druglord. people come to me for advil, tylenol, cortisone creme, immodium ad, eye drops, etc.

drawer 2: is less exciting but it shows you what an office supplies hog i am. there's something about office supplies that i love. i get excited looking over the staples' office supply catalog as much as i'm looking over the catalog for tiffany's. :p again...neat freak alert. i am obsessed with good writing pens, especially those with gel inks and various sharpie pens.

drawer 3: should be housing some hanging folders & files but instead it's a place for plenty of ink cartridges, bowls & plates, spoons & forks, lonely box of wheat thins, lonely can of planters nuts, khong guan chocolate cookies (that have been there for 6+ months now unopened), roll of papertowel, mini compact umbrella from tokyo hands in japan, endust, compressed air and other cleaning supplies. i know there's something not quite right about putting cleaning supplies in the same drawer as food items but this will be my little secret.
now...you know even more about me.
end of mundane entry.
