still kfooding

when i'm in the dumps, my personal form of therapy is shopping. in particular, makeup. i haven't gone this route in a long time but felt i needed to exert some cash to beautify oneself. i headed to ulta beauty store after work today to check out the stuff they have there these days. when people ask me what is ulta like, i tell them it's the poor man's version of sephora. but i'm actually wrong there since ulta has some pretty nice stuff including all the lower end stuff that you find at drugstores as well. so it's good to have a range of products from affordable to higher end. i was impressed with their fragrance selection, their hair products selection and their skin care stuff isn't too bad either. and then you get lost in the rows of loreal, mabelline and cover girl shit.
but it's all good.
i ended up walking away tonight with some murad energizing pomegranate cleanser, studio gear eyeshadow in black emerald, 24/7 oil control blotting tissue and an almay whipped gloss in shining bare. speaking of the almay whipped gloss, i've been obsessed with this cheap find. i love the texture of the gloss and the colors.
maybe a self portrait in the coming days using the new black emerald eyeshadow.

^ my date tonight
nothing has really appealed to me in terms of food lately. except for one
thing - the grilled chadol baegi wrapped in the duk (ttuk) thingamajig. so
i coerced asked fishpimp to join me for dinner tonight and go have
some girly chat over korean bbq and beer. i guess it's just my ongoing passion
for korean foods these days. like i said, whenever the weather gets cold,
you can be sure that you'll be seeing a lot of korean foods on this site.

^ chadol baegi
we ordered the A special which came with the aforementioned chadol baegi and samgupsal. i like the salad at this place because the dressing has just the right amount of tartness combined with sweetness. and their variety of panchan is great too. but we were so stuffed after filling ourselves up with all this food. i'm sure the waitress was surprised that we ordered a "set meal" since there was probably enough food for 3 hungry folks or 4 not so hungry folks.

^ samgupsal

^ the mandatory hite beer
i don't know what it is about having korean food with a friend but it's always such a warm and inviting fun time. i always have stimulating conversation and i'm sure the beer did some of the talking. it's also good to go with a friend who doesn't care how oily your skin gets from the barbeque because by the end of the night, no amount of powder can cover up the oil spill.
i know what some of you are thinking -- all these korean barbeque entries are starting to look alike now. yeah they sure do but i always like to see how each place treats the barbeque process differently. it's my never ending quest to find great korean food places to eat.
all i know is that when i get home, i'm starting to smell really wicked.
sorry this entry is so weird but i'm slightly not feeling well.
