so so

this is going to be short tonight....i barely have control of my motor skills at the moment.
not only did i have to spend 4 days straight in 4 hour long meetings daily, but today also is the end of our fiscal year at work - not to mention month end as well. to say this has been a busy week is just putting it lightly. i was cussing at my desk all day at rather loud decibels. the phone wouldn't stop ringing and every person on earth seemed to need something from me to get done. i had some major deadlines due and some people in the office don't seem to understand why i always work overtime. man, must be nice to be those people who can actually leave on time from work.

after work, i went to do some faux retail therapy at nordstroms. it wasn't real retail therapy as nothing was purchased for my own personal gratification. i got 3 presents that are long overdue to birthday recipients. it's when i was looking at my list of belated presents to buy that i realized how stuck i am on this pause button of life. i used to be really good at sending cards and presents on time but this year, i'm so ashamedly behind. i'm almost embarassed to admit that i haven't even begun sending out my thank you cards for the nice presents i got for my birthday this year. they usually are out a few days after the present arrives but fuck, it's almost 4 weeks. <hangs head in shame>

anyway, at nordstroms, i picked up 50 pairs of shoes and flicked through 30 different racks of clothes trying to find something to buy. but somehow nothing really jumped out at me. i was reading an article on retail therapy this morning and how it soothes a certain part of your emotions when you are feeling down. it's a temporary high they say and one that can alleviate your inner frustrations. there must be some truth to that since you look at some of the facial expressions of shoppers and their eyes practically exude a certain gleam when handing over their credit card. they are all usually smiling with the shopping bag handles is firmly in the grasp of their hands.
there was one thing i wanted but i couldn't justify parting with $49 for a teeshirt tonight.
maybe tomorrow during lunch i can.

since i have photos of food here, i ought to mention that it's from a place that i frequent called thai speciality 2. the food is really good and they even have lunch specials on the weekends. i took these photos during the weekend before valentine's day so hence, all the lovey dovey red balloons in the first pic above. the rest of the photos are: beef satay, pad see eiu, eggplant lover, pineapple chicken curry. the food is even better than it looks.

gotta crash now.
