feeling magenta
may 04, 2005

i decided during my last cut 10 weeks ago that i wanted to grow out my hair. not crazy long but just to my shoulders or something. it was during that same visit that i colored it blue in some parts. although the blue was really nice, it faded back very nicely to blonde after about 2-3 weeks.

^ all foiled up and deciding on the color swatch.
ah, the price & pain of beauty.

today, after looking mighty ragged for the past oh...6 weeks, i went in for a cut and highlights. after looking at the color chart for a solid 30 minutes. i decided on going with the magenta color. now, i'm not especially partial to pink or hot pink for that matter but i thought it "worked" with my skintone for some reason.

so i dove in and this is the outcome.

i like it and it's different. and it's bright. unfortunately, some of the magenta bled into the blonde highlights causing it to take on a pinkish tinge. oh well, it still looks ok to me.

^ i'll never be able to blow dry it like this on my own. :p

as for the cut, i had her give me a layered bob since the one length one was really dragging and making me look awfully tired. my bangs had already hit my collarbone while the rest of the cut was angled. so i had her even out the length all around and i'll grow it out from here. it's in that god forsaken in between length now and with the weather warming up, i'm not so sure if i have the patience to let it grow out. oy!

btw, if you're interested in seeing my cool stylist, you can email me for her info.

thanks to everyone for all the nice welcome back comments on the blog page and via email. :) i feel all warm and fuzzy inside. of course that could be from inhaling the hair color chemicals.

i should be updating regularly this month though.

i think.

aside from the typical craziness in my life (which i'll have to get into in the upcoming entries), i have been helping Biohazard Chick and RN Chick plan their sister's (Emulsion Chick) bridal shower. one of my first tasks was to design the invite. since not everyone is partial to my silly stick drawings *cough* from my previous bridal shower designs, they at least have faith in my creativity i guess. ha ha.

since the wedding color is a lovely rich persimmony pumpkiny color, i went that route and incorporated that into the invite. i have to give special thanks to kane for giving me permission to use his beautiful orange hibiscus photo on the invite though. it was the perfect image i was looking for.

it's funny, even though i'm not technically in any weddings this year, i still find ways to be involved. :) old habits die hard i guess. i just hope the bride & everyone else likes the invite though. it's simple but that's how i like my designs.

speaking of weddings, i just got a last minute invite to a banquet next weekend. what does one buy a couple who lives overseas but came here to have a banquet? any suggestions?

and then there's g's wedding at the end of this month. still need to decide on what to wear and i'm thinking of coloring my hair green & blue for that one. hah.

would you mind g? :x

currently listening to: bananarama, i heard a rumour
