g & v

congratulations to v & g

most of us in our lives have friends that we consider just absolutely stunning together....maybe we call them our barbie and ken or our leonardo and giselle [i was going to use brad & jen but bad analogy now]. that is how i feel about my friend g and her now husband v. their wedding was absolutely beautiful and they were just amazingly....gorgeous.

after you hit your mid-30's, you can say that you've been to your share of weddings. big ones, small ones, some intimate, some are practically cirque du soleil like and i have to admit that you tend to become rather blase about these sort of events. until...you get to the wedding that is... and then you're transformed again and reminded as to why you are there: to share in one of the most important days of your friend's lives. and to realize how special you are to be invited. people tend to forget this i think. some people think it's a pain to attend weddings. some people think it's a chore perhaps. but how quickly we forget that to be considered a invitee is one of those privileges in life.

i met g about 3 years ago at my friend's bridal shower. sometimes you just know when you click with someone and that you just have a special bond from the get go. i think that's how i felt about g when i sat next to her at the dinner. and since then, i think we've grown to be great friends who can share a lot to one another.

the new mr. & mrs. _____

aside from the stunning couple, the decor, flowers and ambience was just very classy, sophisticated and truly reflected the couple i think. my favorite part of the evening (aside from watching the ceremony) was listening to g's father make the father of the bride speech. in a mildly accented english, he brought tears to so many people's eyes with his thoughtful, touching and heartfelt message to the newlyweds. and her adorably petite mom actually came up to introduce herself to me -- even on this very busy and hectic day. most parents of the bride/groom would be too flustered or too busy catering to their own friends but i was so touched that her mom actually came up to ask me if i was winnie.

the only downside was that i didn't take as many photos as i would have liked. as camera happy as i usually am, whenever i attend weddings, i never seem to take too many. so here are just a few to share with you all.
