i usually snort when people say to me: "i really don't like needles."
for some odd reason, people think i love needles or something. but hell, i'm like every other person out there who hates needles and would rather not have syringes hanging on the outside of my body. because of the nature of my state of health, i do an injection on myself each week. and when people find out that i love tattoos, they automatically assume i love needles. it's the most ridiculous thing ever.
my doctor called me on thursday at work with the results of the labwork from the second blood test. he confirmed that i have a low white blood cell count in addition to a super low antibody count towards certain strains of bacteria out there. i guess what this means is that people who are otherwise healthy won't be affected by the bacteria but because i have extremely low immunity towards it, i will get really sick whenever i come into contact with it. the things i would typically get would be sinusitis, pneumonia, bronchitis and in the worst case scenario, meningitis. eeks.
i knew it must have been bad when he next said "when can you get here for some injections?" he wants to inject a series of shots into me, a vaccine if you will, and then do another lab panel in about 3 weeks to see if the numbers have improved. although i'm not happy to hear about the news, at least it makes a lot of sense to me now why i always get sick with sinus infections and how come they drag on so long and why antibiotics do not work on me at times.
on saturday morning, i headed out near the ucla medical center again to have them inject me with the vaccine. and now i'm super sick from whatever reaction i have to it or maybe it's aggravating this mild sore throat i had previously. sore throat, cough, mucus and fever. i am so not loving life right now. and this freakin' 85 degree weather with high winds is not helping me any.
all of this shit really makes me want to move away from LA. i'm convinced there's something about LA that makes me ill.
