2 x 4 year olds = :)

i've been waiting for this day for a long time now; it's been long overdue! :) i took my niece jasmine to meet up with peg and ashlyn for lunch and a playdate today. it's literally been years since i've seen peg and after a few unsuccessful attempts to meet up in these past few years, we finally got together to introduce the girls and to catch up on our own.
being that ashlyn and jasmine are 1 month apart in ages, we thought they would be great together and it doesn't hurt that they only live 15 minutes away from each other too!
although i'm not technically a "mom", i certainly feel like one when i'm babysitting my niece(s). it's a totally different hat to wear and one role that i take really seriously. as much as i indulge and love my nieces, i do exert a sense of "parental-ness" when i'm with them. afterall, they are my responsibility when under my watch and they are also an extension of who i am too.

after having lunch with the mother daughter duo, we headed back to peg's place to meet her little one, summer and to see her hubby too! summer is so mature and such an old soul in a 2 year old body. and so serious too! i love the fact that ashlyn and summer remind me so much of jasmine and sofia when they are together. i personally think this is peg's secret ploy to convince me to have kids! i know all your online moms want to see me pregnant!

now that more and more of my friends are having kids, it amazes me how much it takes to be a good mom. peg is so great with her daughters and with jasmine. i wanna be her kid too! haha!

ashlyn and summer shared all their toys with jasmine and i think they dragged out every toy conceivable onto the living room floor! i don't think peg's hubby (aric) will invite me back anytime soon. ;) i was pretty astonished at how much little summer talked though. she is quite vocal and those toothy smiles are so great (of course she looked all serious when i took this photo of her). hmph!

^ entraced by the peg's playdoh artistry but can't you tell it's nap time
for some little girls?
unfortunately it was too hot to go outside to the park and the water fountains today. but perhaps next time. i know jasmine didn't want to leave their house when it was time to but i promised her she'll play with the pegpower kids again! although both of them were shy with one another and played kind of on their own, they didn't want to leave one another. perhaps next time they will be more familiar and interact more.
and can i say how adorable ashlyn is as well? she is *so* talkative and is so charming. i love how outgoing she is and how cute she is when she says "thank you mommy" and "ah-yi, ah-yi" (auntie auntie). i had so much fun hanging out and somewhat catching up with peg (there's so much to talk about still!). hope to see her and those lovely sassy kids of her soon again!
thanks for a great afternoon peg! :)
