gagagagagagagagaga. i just want to suck off her cheeks like those steamed fish cheeks. she came to visit a couple weeks ago and grandma did some funky braiding thing with clips a la back in the village days look. but somehow she can pull it off without looking too mainlandish. the photo to the far right just kills me. too bad you can see the photo in the middle up close, she has a crusty snot in one of the nostrils. yes, a proud aunt i am. but i have to say that little sofia is growing up. her face looks somewhat different now and her cheeks are slimming down - which means her features are now more evenly distributed throughout her face. plus, she's looking so much more like her sister now - except she has even larger and rounder eyes. too bad you can't see her eyelashes. to die for.

have you seen tokidoki's new spring 2007 line? cute pirate theme! arg! maybe they snuck in a cutesy johnny depp in there too? it's funny, i've been wanting this particular tote style for a looooonnnnnggggg time but i never got it it. i guess when it comes to practicality, lesportsac totes always sag in the middle when i have too much in there, and i really don't like that. but the tokidoki styles are just so so so cute that it's awfully tempting.
it would make a nice diaper bag though. :p

ok, so i decided to grow up and get an adult watch. with the approval of fishpimp, i returned the harajuku lovers one and got myself the michele mini urban watch on a black patent band. i've never owned one of these although i've seen it in nordstroms. their styles are decent but i do love all their colorful bands. i would like to get a white patent leather one for summer. i only wished they made a nice chartreuse green or lime green one though but alas, no luck there.
i'm not one of those frou frou watch wearers. meaning...i don't really require anything too fancy. the most expensive watches i own are no more than $250. maybe that's already expensive to some of you out there. although i do love those nice IWC watches and the cartier tank watches, i've never splurged and bought any of those. i mean, hell, i typically wear a timex from target! if i were to splurge, i may perhaps get a really nice omega but i'm a practical watch girl and seikos are always a winner. but this michele watch will do very nicely now, it is probably the most expensive watch i own to date. i'm really gravitate much more to interesting & unique watches that function well more than anything.

i'm a lip balm fiend. i mean, i hoard lip balm nearly as much as i hoard books, yarn, stationary, pens, office supplies, makeup. i'm sure there's more things that i hoard but let's not go there. you will probably notice that everytime i purchase makeup and post a photo on the site, there will *always* inevitably be a lip product of some sort on there. much like chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes are a comfort food, lipstick/lipgloss/lipbalm are comfort purchases. they are somewhat economical in the makeup realm and are small enough to hide from your significant other....unlike an LV bag. they will never know how many lipsticks you really have because to them, they all look alike.
so i was at target the other day (i've been going there a lot lately - which is BAD), and i came across carmex's new flavored lip balm. are they new? or am i behind with the times? they had both mint and cherry flavors on hand and i had to have them both. i love carmex but the little tubs sometimes makes it messy to open, apply on lip and then close. maybe it's just me being monk-ish and not wanting to touch things with dirty hands.
so when i saw the click stick technology they have emblazoned on their boxes, i knew this was it. carmex was finally catching up with the times. although i like their carmex in a tube - the round tip makes it messy to apply (see a pattern here?). this stick form with nice minty and cherry flavors is a godsend.

of course my two other favorite lip balms has got to be: burt's bees beeswax lip balm and kiehl's balm #1 (which i think i love a degree more than burt's). but then again, i LOVE kiehl's products. i started using them wayyyyyyyyy back when (read: when barney's was still at south coast plaza) but didn't get into their skincare line until the past 2 years. it's been one of the best products for me personally.

speaking of kiehl's, have you seen this lip gloss set? see?! i told you it's all about the lips :{|} oh kiehl's, how i love thee.

like oh....a million of you out there, i love ugly betty. fun show. refreshing. and who doesn't love america ferrera? i loved her in real women have curves and she has certainly slimmed down a bit since then. but ugly betty is just so hilarious. so from time to time, i like to drop in their seen on! section. it shows you the clothes and accessories seen on ugly betty and you can select the character as well. interesting stuff especially if you love fashion as much as i do.

and their be ugly 07 tee is so adorable along with their Empower Ring. sassy. makes me wanna be ugly too (insert your choice of aiyah joke here).

i love love love this nadine shrug by marc by marc jacobs. am i being too ambitious by thinking i could actually knit this?! it doesn't look that hard and i think all the stitching is basic. or would the yarn itself actually cost more than the shrug, which values at $198? yeah, who am i kidding? it will probably cost double the price.

nothing like good ol' vans to say "hey, i'm from california and i went to public school in the 70's + 80's and had big crushes on the boys who wore vans!" i especially love the gisele and prison issue models. <3
