happy belated new years. yeah, i know i'm late. as in 10 days late but i really don't know where these 10 days went. i swear. i kinda fell asleep after midnight while watching kouhaku and then before i knew it, it's already the 10th. if this is any indication of how 2007 will be, i'm in trouble. it either means the year is gonna fly by or that i've been in some drug induced state since new year's eve. and i really doubt it's the latter.
well the first few days of the new years was spent babysitting le younger niece. although she is extra easy to take care of for a 21 month old, i still fell asleep exhausted every night. maybe i'm not cut out for this whole parenthood thing afterall. i basically spent my day playing, reading, feeding, watching her pee and poop on the potty and changing her diapers. crazy to think that's all i did but seriously that is all.i.did.
then i spent a day at my brother's place surprising jasmine from school and then taking her to art class. how come real housewives of orange county doesn't show this side of life much? i think i was just tired being a chauffeur. i barely recall driving back home and collapsing on my bed.
aside from babysitting, i suppose the days have been filled with martial arts training. i've really gotten back into it for the past 2 months or so. trying to get in 5 hours per week religiously and really aiming to eek out about 8 hours if i can.
and yeah, i'm feeling much more badass.

then came a slew of baby showers and birthday parties. i don't know how people who have a busy social schedule do it.
i'll be honest...i sure can't.
with the crazy weather in LA these past 10 days, my allergies have been suffering. and i'm still getting weekly allergy shots so there's the health aspect that i need to get address. and did i mention i finally finished 6 months of the endometriosis treatment?! i'm officially off of it. so there's that to contend with.
gawd...there's so much to catch up here and i guess i'll have to devote an entry to each of those topics above. this is just my reminder list.
then there's knitting. i've been hoarding more yarn and knitting like a mofo. if i could eat while i'm sleeping, i would. i've been on a mitten craze and i'm glad i have fellow friends who knit fiendishly with me.
and finally there's DOMO. so many new things to post about it and constant changes. in fact, they are drilling and hammering outside as i'm typing this. trying not to reach for the excedrin if i can help it. also because aspirin will kill me.
and of course there's snowbie...who got a new carseat for her birthday courtesy of you know who. since i've been taking her out so much these days, i felt that i would not overcome the guilt if something happened to her in the event of an accident. i was skeptical about how she would fare in a carseat but she took to it from day one. after buckling her in, she either sits up and looks around or lays down for a nap. no barking. no whining.
the carseat i got is amazing. it's a fold out bed as well (if you happen to be traveling) and it sits on top of a suitcase too. plus there's a compartment under the seat that allows you to store things. all this and the peace of mind that she is restrained in case anything happens.
the people at the mcdonald's drive thru now know me as the crazy dog lady who has a carseat for her dog. :D they're just jealous that their labradors can't fit into one. i know.
funny how amazon has really been fugging up my orders lately. one of the books i ordered for christmas was printed not only upside down but the pages were scrambled. but on the most recent order, they had somehow shipped my package to hawaii when it was already in ontario, ca! and i guess some guy snacking on a spam musubi on the big island probably saw my address label on the package and went "whoa, someone fugged up royally on da mainland!" and then proceeded to get it on a plane back to me. whoever said folks on da islands are slow and lazy are dead wrong. i'm starting to believe that the folks in ontario are though.
anyway, i'll go into details on some of the things above in the near future. lots of new photos of DOMO to share and other areas of my lovely life.
