the loot
march 03, 2007

i'm cheating again, it's actually 3/12 now. i'm so behind on my entries because i've been sick with the flu. in fact, the entire household has it but what can you do eh? for some reason this strain of the flu is more vicious than the rest. i can't see to shake it although i'm getting a lot better. but still....not 100%. call it a special 37th birthday gift from TGILW. after i caught it, my mom and dad both have it now.
bear with me as i'm slowly catching up to everything that is going on around here. there's gonna be a lot of post dated entries for awhile. eesh. i hate it when i'm so behind but i haven't even finished my SF entries from january! *hangs head in shame*
anyhoo...
a big thank you to everyone who wished me a happy birthday via email, snail mail, comments and who also gifted me with presents from da wishlist. just wanted to show you all the loot i received! some of the items were things on my wishlist but a few were things that the gifter thought i would love - and they were so right!!
i mainly got a bunch of books and dvds. and omg, i got nearly all the bic runga cds!!! this has come at a great time as i'm going to her concert in LA in a couple of weeks. i also got a lovely handmade bag from can you guess who? and also the holga camera starter kit from my family.
i did want to let whoever sent me [the Domiknitrix Knitting Book, Knit Fix Book and the Bic Runga Live in Concert CD] know that i DID NOT receive these items. i'm not sure if you sent them to me directly or if you sent them to yourself and was going to forward it to my po box or if you planned to keep those items - but please let me know (even anonymously on my blog page) so that i know it's not lost in the mail. if anything, i can contact amazon directly and ask for those items to be shipped to me. this has happened once before a couple years ago and i never followed up on it. i'm sure whoever gifted me with it thought i was rude for not thanking them. so....i just want to make sure whoever the gifter was know about this. :) thanks! if i don't hear from anyone, i'll go ahead and contact amazon directly then.

aside from all the goodies above, i was shocked to walk into my computer room on the morning of my birthday to find my jacket draped over something. when i unveiled it, i was :O that it was an LV box!
TGILW generously gifted me with this for my birthday!

it's the new vernis brentwood in pomme d'amour color! ok, those of you who don't like LVs or are turned off by my handbag materialism can tune out for now. the rest of you can continue to cheer for me. :p i never ever really liked the vernis line but when i saw the pomme color about a month ago at AGM (Asian Girl Mecca aka SCP), i thought it was such a gorgeous red. but it's one of those bags that will be for special occasions and not for throwing into my trunk or backseat. :p

TGILW told me he drove down to SCP and got it for me one evening but the sales agent was really cold and mean. she also gave him a bag that was creased and dented! hmph! if you look here on my flickr, you'll see what i mean! so i called up my regular sales agent and explained that i got a lemon of a bag and asked her to hold a good one for me while i go exchange the one from the mean girl at SCP. i obviously did it as a return and got a good one and gave the commission to my sales agent instead. :p
which brings me to the point of how come so many sucky sales agent work at the SCP LV? obviously for every 1 bag egg, there are about 5 great ones. but still. i mean, it's not like we're buying a bag that's $5 here folks. don't you think that they should go the extra mile to give better service than to dump a creased and dented bag to an unsuspecting male who bought this bag for his wife's birthday? and what's with the cold shoulder? this is why i always use a particular sales agent (who is not at SCP mind you) and give her my business and referrals. nothing worse than going into a store (any store for that matter) and letting the sales agent ruin your experience.
anyway, a final thanks again to everyone for making my 37th a very pleasant one. :)
currently listening to: bic runga, say after me
